Martin Orme

Martin Orme Key Account Manager/Internal Sales Engineer

Martin joined the Oliver companies 16 years ago when he inquired about vacant roles on a whim. With no experience in the industry but with bags of enthusiasm, he was placed in the Oliver Valvetek stores. Martin’s drive and initiative quickly was recognised when he would spend his free time across weekends dealing with various administrative tasks for the company.

Recruited into the Sales Department, Martin was soon to embark on a huge learning curve as he was made responsible for handling sales across the far East after just 4 months of training. After 4 years in this role, Oliver opened its Malaysia sales office and Martin was asked to use his expertise to manage sales across North England and Europe.

Martin has proudly grown one of Oliver’s largest accounts over the last 3 years thanks to his natural charisma, determination and dedication to the company.

Chris Wright Product Support Engineer

Joining Oliver Valves on the shop floor in 2004, Chris began in the company with no engineering background. He was quickly transferred to a position in the production office after just 6 months. Developing skills and further knowledge, Chris moved into Sales Order Processing where he spent 2 years prior to entering a Documentation Controller role within Oliver Twinsafe.

During this time in Oliver Twinsafe, Chris worked closely with the Engineering Department. The challenges and problem solving aspects appealed to him, so Chris decided to reignite his education by enrolling onto an internal apprenticeship programme.

After completing his apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering he carried on through higher education eventually gaining an HND in General Engineering. In 2016 a new opportunity arose in the Oliver Valvetek Engineering department and Chris decided to apply. Today, thanks to the support offered with his career progression and a personal drive to forge a career in engineering, Chris’ position as a Product Support Engineer involves creating bill of materials to assist valve production, as well as new 3D models and assemblies using CAD software.
